Child Dedication, Infant Baptism, & Believer Baptism
Riverside will be having several child dedications this upcoming Sunday and then again in a couple weeks. I thought it would be helpful to briefly explain the difference between child dedication, infant baptism, and believer baptism. Riverside chooses to respect the biblical positions of both infant and believer baptism equally. Devoted followers of Christ have held each of these views and there is room for both in the Body of Christ. These explanations are very brief and may prompt additional questions. Please speak to me if you have any questions or would like to discuss dedication or baptism further. Each is vital to the life of the church and our relationship to God.

Indiana Dunes
Ok, so somehow I missed out on the fact that we pretty much have the ocean just 1.5 hours away. How did I not know that this beautiful place called the Indiana Dunes is right in our backyard?? Anyway, I brought 6 JH and SH gals up to the Dunes on Friday-we LOVED it! What a wonderful way to spend our afternoon-we enjoyed the white sandy beaches and clear water while people watching and getting some rays. Two of the gals totally beat me in a race up the dunes-I felt old. Afterwards we were STARVING so we headed to Steak-n-shake, ate faster than I have ever seen girls eat (I mean seriously, Shelby and Erin ate a triple cheeseburger, fries, and large shake in under 5 minutes!!!) We learned alot on this little road trip-God makes all people very different, which is good, Indiana is beautiful beyond the cornfields, Gas America sells religious-based silly bands, and I was reminded once again that kids-no matter how cool they try to be-love to play.
Riverside to Offer Additional Worship Service in the Fall
Riverside desires to be a community of authentic and connected people that care deeply about the spiritual formation of entire families. In recent months we have faced facility limitations (primarily with children downstairs) that have caused us to examine how to continue to fulfill our desires most effectively. After months of prayer, discussion and discernment, the Staff and Leadership Team have decided that Riverside will offer an additional Sunday worship service in the Fall. In the Fall we will have identical worship services at 9am and 10:45am.
