Tonight we painted signs for the White House while we watched some serious football! As a youth group we wanted to make it obvious where we meet on a weekly basis plus give ourselves snappy names to boot! First we asked each student, if they had to describe themselves in a word or phrase, what would it be? We got caught up for awhile quoting Forest Gump-have you ever noticed how many awesome quotes that movie has?? Then I asked, if someone new was joining us, what word or phrase would describe us as a group? That was alot harder because we are very diverse in thought and action!!!! We got a little sidetracked while the Colts made a comeback:) Once we got our focus back we started rolling around all kinds of water metaphors, fish names, and then William grabbed a Bible and started reading out of the concordance for inspiration-it worked. The Junior High settled on Melissa's idea of swimming against the flow in life-UPSTREAM, while the Senior High went with how we are all so messed up, but through community in Christ we live in freedom-CONFESSED CHAOS. What a night-I'm really excited about this first step to transforming the White House!!!
