Discovery Hour Summer Break Approaching

As Dar mentioned in her Promiseland Chatter May newsletter article, there will be no Discovery Hour June 6th through August 29th.   Not only will the children not have Discovery Hour, but the adult and youth will be taking the summer off as well.

So take the summer to explore some of the many other ways you and your child(ren) can learn about God and develop community with other believers.  Mark your calendar now to be a part of Riverside's first Vacation Bible School (June 21-25), or check out other area churches VBS programs.  Lafayette Christian School is offering several sports camps for children and you can find out more by picking up a flyer at Riverside.  Sounds like the youth will have opportunities through mission trips and weeknight gatherings to stay connected with others and expand their knowledge of God in very tangible ways.  Adults, how about trying out a Riverside small group?  Go to http://www.rcovenant.org/small-groups/spring-semester-2010-small-groups to learn more.  The women will be having their summer study the first 3 weeks of June and July.  Or perhaps you can participate in one or both of their summer book club offerings.
