After weeks of prayer and congregational discussions in person and online, Riverside voted on Sunday, August 15 to purchase the 20 acres of property situated on the east side of Klondike Rd. where 250 N. and Klondike Rd. intersect. The measure passed with 70% approval of the membership and sufficient financial pledges to meet the additional expenses. We now look forward to clarifying God's vision for Riverside through understanding our gifts, our community, and how they fit together.
Land purchase
Why was buying land not taken into consideration prior to purchasing the white house recently. Just curious.

Hi Lori. I thought I responded to this comment, but now I notice nothing was posted. I am very sorry and will send this response to you via email as well.
We did consider buying land when we purchased the white house, but it did not meet our immediate needs. When we bought the white house our primary concern was that we were out of room for our children's ministry in the basement of our main facility. In order to continue to accomodate more children we needed to move our Jr. and Sr. High and the church offices out of the basement and use those spaces for children's classrooms. While the purchase of land and the construction of a new facility may have fixed this issue after a couple years, the white house provided an immediate solution.
The church offices and the Jr. and Sr. High now meet in the white house. We also gained an adult classroom space in the white house.
