Christmas Eve and "Blue" Christmas Services

Riverside will be celebrating three Christmas services this year.

On Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, Riverside will offer two services.

The first service will be at 6:30 p.m.  This will be a family oriented service with childcare for children ages two and younger.  The service will have a children's message and other family friendly elements as we celebrate the arrival of Jesus together.

The second service will be at 9 p.m.  Childcare will not be provided, although children are certainly welcome.  This service will celebrate the arrival of Jesus with Christmas carols.

Riverside will also offer a "Blue Christmas" service on Wednesday, December 23 at 6:30 p.m.  Not everyone is up and cheery during the Christmas holidays. Dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make parties and joviality painful for many people in our congregation and community.  Therefore, this service will be reflective, accepting people where they really are, and holding out healing and hope.

Jubilee Christmas

Riverside is participating in Lafayette Urban Ministry's Jubilee Christmas. This is our community's largest Christmas assistance program.   On Saturday, December 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Riverside will become a Jubilee Toy Shop where low-income parents can select new toys for their children.   We have 15 families with a total of 25 children we are buying gifts for this year.

Here is what you can do to help:
