Another reminder to parents about your child’s mission project:
They are about $30 away from completing their mission adventure.  Their goal is $160.  Please keep encouraging them to bring their gifts on Sunday morning.

This month, our 3-to-5-year-olds will hear, in Discovery Hour, stories of Jesus’ unconditional love for everyone, including them, through the stories of:  Jesus welcoming the little children, Jesus healing two blind men, and the Good Samaritan.  They also will learn about the widow who gave her last two coins to God.

On December 20th, Promiseland children entertained approximately 90 family members and friends with the presentation of the Backwards Christmas Pageant.  A huge “Thank you!” to Dana for directing and Kelly, Missy, and Megan, her helpers.  The fun continued as Becky and Ryan coordinated a Christmas caroling adventure through the Riverside Covenant neighborhood.  Afterwards, it was back to the church for pizza, side dishes, and a birthday cake for Jesus.  It was an evening of fun and fellowship, and hopefully God was glorified as we celebrated the birth of His Son.

Our winter quarter has begun in Promiseland with your children receiving new passports filled with Bible verses.  Keep up the good work of encouraging your children to hide God’s Word in their hearts.

You don't want to miss “A Backward Christmas Pageant” presented this Sunday, December 20 at 4:30 p.m. by the Riverside children.  Following the pageant, we will go into the surrounding neighborhood to do some Christmas caroling and to pass out invitations for Riverside’s Christmas Eve services.  After the caroling, we will return to Riverside for pizza and a birthday cake for Jesus.  Please bring a salad to share for our meal.

There was “a whole lotta shoppin’ goin’ on” at the Promise Mart Store on October 19.  Halfway through Discovery Hour the storekeeper had to make a deposit because of the large stack of Bible Bucks he had received.  It has been so exciting to see the kids coming to Discovery Hour with their Bibles tucked under their arms and a Bible verse hidden in their hearts.

Changes and more changes seem to be the theme in Promiseland of late. I'm feeling the effects some days more than others as I'm sure you as parents are also.  Some Sunday mornings I feel like I've lost my brain and don't know where to find it.  Not complaining though.  God is good and He is blessing us in many ways.  He is faithful always to provide teachers and helpers as we continue to grow.  All praise to Him!  We've kicked Miss Becky and the youth out of their room and moved them to the "White House" next door.  Thanks, Miss Becky, for so graciously giving up your room!  Our 3-5 year old children in Children's Church have lots of room to spread out now.
