If you’ve ever heard of Bigger and Better, you’ll understand why this game was such a hit at our first youth group last year and why we had to do it again!! The premise of the game is…2 teams start with a dollar, then they drive to a friend’s house and ask what they can get for a dollar that doesn’t need to be returned. Then they keep going, asking if they can trade up at each house. It’s super fun-last year a team took our box springs and it ended up on the side of the road in pieces, we had no casualties this year!!!!:)
We stopped by bunches of houses with the boys coming out the winners-they found a FREE truck topper someone was giving away-and it actually fits Thomas’ truck so BONUS!! After the game we had a heart to heart on why as Americans we get so caught up in what we have, always needing bigger and better. We talked about how God wants us to use our material possessions to please him and do his work. On Wednesday we got to hear from Thomas’ uncle who produced a film Jesus Freaks that will be playing next week in Indianapolis. He shared his vision for the film with the students and why he’s so passionate about talking to people their age about seeing it. It was an awesome week of fellowship-now if only the rain would stop for the Feast!
