Wow-so Shelby had casually mentioned that she would love to do a movie day and I thought we could throw in making some cookies for the Youthworks staff in Alabama while we were at it. Not thinking the boys would want to come, I prepared for a quiet afternoon with the gals-ha!! 13 kids, 3 hours, tons of flour and sugar all over the kitchen, The DaVinci Code, 10 blowpops, 1 case of pop, 2 cases of juice boxes, 20 snack-packs of chips, and a drumset later we had successfully made 6 dozen cookies and not heard a single word of the movie. It was awesome and crazy all at the same time-even as we explained several times that The DaVinci Code is not a historical movie!! On Sunday we had everyone over again but this time kept it outside:) We made S’mores, played a little football, had some smokin’ games of spoons where Melissa and William kicked everyone’s behind. After letting off some of Brandon and Austin’s fireworks we settle down and William got out his guitar for a little Sanctuary and Mighty to Save action. We did some good praying and called it a night. I’m looking forward to getting back into James this week with the students and seeing what we can hear God telling us while we float down Sugar Creek!!
