We had an awesome weekend of fellowship with the students! We started with a Friday night JH guys movie night-we played a little ping-pong, I totally lost which was a huge hit to my ego, but still alot of fun-then we watched Goonies, rather we made fun of the special effects in Goonies (I still think it’s a pretty cool movie, but I can see how it doesn’t stand up to movies made 2 whole decades later!!) Sunday afternoon we made gingerbread houses together in the welcome center. I think next year we’ll do it at our house since we’re used to cleaning up big messes with River and have vinyl furniture that wipes right up! But the students were awesome-they really got into designing their houses, they made fences and chimneys and swimming pools-it was so fun!! Brandon did not let us down and made the craziest house of all, he really just kept adding candy wherever there was space until we ran out of icing! I think we’ve just created the first Riverside Youth Christmas tradition so they can do even bigger and messier next year!
