It was a flurry of icing, peppermints, sprinkles, and more coconut flakes than I could imagine. Our second year of making houses went just as planned–controlled chaos! We had such a good time just hanging out with the students, watching a little football here and there, and voting on who was the most creative with their house this year. It was amazing to see the changes in the boys’ houses. (Last year Brandon just tried to see how much candy he could load onto his house.) I’m telling ya, by the time he left, all of the icing was gone, as was most of the candy. This year it was ordered and precise–who knew? We talked alot about what’s been going on with them this week, prayed for some struggling grades, difficult situations with friends, and keeping our hearts focused on the gift of Jesus, while the world goes crazy about the newest and best presents of the season. Keeping up with everything this time of year is hard for all of us, so our focus is to keep things real relationally and make sure we don’t miss out on opportunities to love on each other!!
