Check out these pictures from the Youth Group Ski trip that took place over Christmas Break!
The retreat was awesome to the millionth degree-God is so good!! Travel was safe, we survived the 12 hours in the vans without getting stuck in the snow, and we got to stay in a lodge all together with a big cozy fire in the middle separating the guys and girls that our great friend, Barry, kept an eye on 24/7. We brought three Young Life leaders with us this year to chaperone and what a blessing they were to us!! Anytime there was a free minute Jenny was keeping the kids occupied with a game or connecting with one of our gals, and the guys, Mike and Joe were super helpful in keeping track of everyone, making sure they felt included, and cleaning up after my crazy games at night! We had a successful day of skiing-several kids took a lesson and all of them made it to a big hill by the end of the day-we didn’t lose anyone or anything-amazing. Must admit tubing the second day was a bit of a let-down, it was SUPER crowded-but we saved the afternoon with a rockin’ broomball game where Maya and Joe showed us all up. The best parts of the trip were the evenings-we had suped up youth group followed by worship and a message about honesty with God, imaginative prayer (one night we used bubbles-symbolizing our junk and got to watch it float away and pop), accountability, and then finished up the retreat the way we did last year-we opened up the floor for the kids to be honest about what’s going on in their lives and then we laid hands on them and prayed. Tears tears tears and LOTS of love and started some healing. It was so powerful and joined us even closer as a community. WHAT A HUGE BLESSING ALL OF YOU ARE TO US!!!!!! Praise God for all of it!!!!!!!!
