The Development Committee will be hosting a forum this Sunday, December 13, following the worship service, to give an update on their work and discuss facility considerations. If you are unavailable to attend the Development Committee forum, but have questions or comments, please email the Development Committee at development@rcovenant.org
About one year ago, the Riverside Leadership Team put together a Development Committee to evaluate Riverside’s facility needs. This team has been meeting regularly and continues to assess Riverside’s future facility needs and available options to accommodate current and future growth. This past summer Riverside voted to acquire the white house next to our property upon the recommendation of the Development Committee and the Leadership Team. Our Senior High and Junior High youth immediately moved into the house freeing up badly needed children’s space in our main facility. The Riverside offices will move into the house in the coming months as well.
While the purchase of the house has been successful in meeting our immediate needs, the Development Committee continues to assess options to accomomdate future growth. As has been discussed in previous forums, the Development Committee has explored many possibilities, including: doing nothing, expanding our current facility, purchasing vacant land, purchasing an existing structure, and several other options. Many of these possibilities can be viewed by clicking HERE.
The Development Committee would like to continue these discussions with you at the upcoming forum.
Our facility is simply a tool for ministry. Riverside’s primary concern is how our facility, whatever it is or may be, enhances the work that God is doing amongst and through us. We must prayerfully consider together any decision we may make in the future and discern collectively the path God is leading us towards.
