Support the Riverside Ecuador Team

There is just a little over a month until Riverside’s Ecuador Team begins their work in Cangahua, Ecuador.  We want to share more about the trip, introduce you to the entire team of 27, and ask for your prayer and financial support.

Sitting on the equator, Ecuador is located on the northern Pacific coast of South America. Ecuador shares a border with Colombia to the north and Peru to the south and east.  Ecuador is one of the poorest countries in Latin America.  61% of Ecuadorian children live in poverty.

From June 1 to June 8 we will be working with a local Ecuadorian school (85 pre-school through 8th graders) overseen by the Evangelical Covenant Church and also with a local Ecuadorian Covenant Church.

At the school, the team will teach classes in the morning and facilitate a Vacation Bible School in the afternoon.  Classes will include science experiments, art theory, music theory, bible, physical education, sex education, character, and values.  Work at the church will include construction of Sunday school classrooms and improvements on the church parsonage.  We are also planning at least one game night with the local community.

All of the projects will provide the opportunity for the team to work alongside Ecuadorians and to build relationships and partnerships that will benefit Riverside and our new Ecuadorian friends for many years and trips to come.  These relationships will be solidified through Riverside’s partnership and financial support of Ecuadorian missionaries, Joel and Kim Delp and the Santiago Partnership.

Right now, we need your prayers and financial support.  All of the team members have been raising financial support on their own, but there are common expenses such as construction materials and teaching supplies that you could help us pay for.  You can donate by writing a check to Riverside Covenant Church and including “Ecuador” in the memo line or by clicking the “Donate Online” link to the left and including “Ecuador” in the gift memo.
