1. Lafayette Transitional Housing Center. In recent weeks many Riverside families have made financial contributions and donated food to Lafayette Transitional Housing Center’s (LTHC) (http://www.lthc.net/) food pantry. One Riverside Small Group has even served two meals in the LTHC soup kitchen and prayed with the guests. A Riverside family (the Renz’s) made beautiful placemats with a prayer on them that decorated the LTHC tables. Another Riverside Small Group is making laundry detergent to distribute at LTHC and to Family Promise (http://www.fpglinc.org/) guests.

December 2012 Prayer Calendar
Use Riverside’s monthly prayer calendar as a jumping off point in communication with our Lord. We know God wants us to pray to Him, and we know we should pray more, so let the prayer calendar help you. From prayers for personal spiritual growth to praying for others in our church, community, nation and around the world, the calendar will be a good start in communicating with God. It’s also a great tool to facilitate prayer with your children. We even have 2 year olds who use it! Just print it out and get started yourself.
Riverside 2012 Christmas Services
All are invited to join the festivities on Sunday, December 16, 4:30 p.m. at the Promiseland Kids’ Christmas Celebration. There will be family activity stations, pizza and birthday cake for Jesus…among other fun things! Please bring a side dish to share.
Riverside will host a “Blue Christmas” service on Friday, December 21, 6:30 p.m (the longest night of the year). Riverside’s Blue Christmas service is a time of worship for those experiencing grief and sadness this season. This service will be reflective, accepting people where they really are, and holding out healing and hope. Childcare will be provided.
Christmas Eve Services will be held on Monday, December 24 at 5:30 & 7:30 p.m. Both services are family oriented with childcare for children, walkers to age two, at the second service. The infant nursery will be open during both services for parents to use if they would like (and they can watch the service on the TV), but will not be staffed.

Please bring a brunch dish to share.
In case of inclement weather, the brunch will not be cancelled. Please use your best judgement and avoid putting yourself in danger.
