This week in the Men's Bible study we are examining Mark 6 and we will look at the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 in Mark 6:32-45. At the beginning of the year I attended our denomination's MidWinter Conference in Chicago. This video is really funny, but brings up a good point at the same time. Are we going to watch it tonight during bible study?
astonished and amazed
Mark uses several different words for astonishment or amazement, but there does not seem to be a significant difference between the words in Greek. They have different nuances, but each ultimately conveys that people's astonishment or amazement are the result of incomprehension and lack of faith. Amazement and astonishment does not equal faith. It may lead to it, but it may simply end there.
