Prom Night Praise!

Prom night was seriously ridiculous--we had such an awesome time!!  We worked all morning to set up the sanctuary for the event-Melissa, Katie, and Dana blew up about a million balloons to make our arch for prom pictures, I hung streamers, decorated tables, arranged auction items--it was a ton of work.  But...come 7pm it was a magical transformation as couples and singles started arriving.  We took cheesy photos, had lots of yummy food, and of course, enjoyed just seeing each other look ridiculous!!

Ryan and Andrew played some of the biggest hits of the 80's, while we danced and kept our eyes on our favorite auction items.  We played several rounds of bingo before we named best and worst dressed of the evening and crowned our prom king and queen, Matt and Dar.  We taught a little electric slide and just had a blast fellowshipping.  The evening was a total God success--we had fun and raised funds for our winter retreat.  We didn't quite make our mark but on Sunday, I asked anyone who missed the party if they felt called, to please consider giving.  Well we totally made more money than we expected which will just make the next month of praying and planning a relief for me--I just praise God for awesome people and their hearts to see the students grow in their faith.  Because that's what this retreat is about-not the skiing or snowboarding, but what happens as we grow VERY close on a 12-hour van ride, that we gain their trust and their ears to invite them into a deeper relationship with the Lord.  Thanks so much Riverside!!
