If you remember on Sunday, I mentioned that a 10% tithe is not mentioned anywhere in the New Testament of the Bible. I also said that someone that gives 3% on a small salary may be exceedingly more generous than someone that gives 30% on a large salary.
We ignore the point of giving to God's work when we narrow it to an exact standard that we must meet. Giving must be worked out between each of us and God. God calls us to be generous with what he has given us and that will look different for each of us. What is important is that we are using our resources for God's work and not withholding them for our own purposes and plan.
