WOW Meets May 3rd
WOW (Women Of the WORD) is a group of women from Riverside who meets monthly to pray for our husbands. We intercede on behalf of their spiritual lives, friends, jobs, integrity, generosity, etc.
WOW meets at Riverside the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. It’s for all wives who want to strengthen their marriage through vital prayer–from new pray-ers to the seasoned prayer warriors. At each monthly meeting a calendar of prayer topics for our husbands will be provided. Online weekly reminders of the topics we are praying for will be available as well, should you wish to sign up. Our meetings will start promptly and child care is available. You are invited to be a part of an amazing prayer experience. Please plan to join us! Questions? Contact: Katie Schmidt or email [email protected].
Extra, Extra….Pray All About It!
This Sunday you’ll get a free May calendar with your bulletin! It may not solve all your scheduling struggles, but it can help you make time with your Father. Take the calendar and put it on your fridge, with your Bible, by your bed, but not in the recycling bin! Use it to prompt your prayers for your Riverside family and God’s people everywhere. And if you can’t wait until Sunday to get a copy, you can download one right now. See the attached….

The National Day of Prayer on Thursday May 5th provides opportunity for our first corporate prayer gathering at Riverside. Join us at 7 p.m. for an hour of prayer. God invites us, even commands us, to pray about all things (Eph. 6:18), including our government and leaders (1 Tim. 6:1). Many other aspects of our national welfare would benefit from prayer as well (i.e. education, business, media, etc.), so come see how we’re going to get them all prayed for in one hour! Childcare provided.
Why Pray?
Prayer brings us into the presence of Almighty God. In our seasons of trial, in our times of prosperity, when we don’t know where to turn, He is our answer.
New Course Coming Soon!
What was the Riverside course most requested on Riverside’s 2011 Congregation Survey? – And the survey shows . . . “How to Share Your Faith.”
Therefore, starting Sunday, May 8, and continuing for 4 Sundays at 9:15AM in the White House, we will have a workshop on sharing your faith. This is not a lecture class. Each of us will work at 1) defining what we believe, 2) explaining why we believe it, 3) learning how to share it with others, and 4) identifying and overcoming our fear of sharing. This course will be a great first step towards more effectively sharing our faith with our family, coworkers, neighbors and friends.
