The First Methodist Furniture Bank is running low on donations. The donated furniture is made available at no charge to social service agencies for their clients. Anyone with good used furniture to donate can contact the furniture bank for pickup at [email protected]. Stephen Ministry Sunday is September 29
It’s time to find out more about Riverside’s new Stephen Ministry and how you can be a part of how we love and care for one another. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
On Sunday, September 29, the vision for Riverside’s Stephen Ministry will be shared during both worship services and everyone is welcome to stay after the 10:45am service for food, conversations with our Stephen Ministry leaders, and more information. The only thing you need to bring is an openness to how God may be wanting to use you to care for others.
Training for Riverside’s Stephen Ministers will begin in January. You can find out more information about Stephen Ministry here: http://www.stephenministries.org/stephenministry/default.cfm/1596
Note from Brenda Fassnacht
On Sunday, August 25, Brenda Fassnacht, our Women’s Ministry Director shared that she will be resigning her position in order to respond to God’s call in other directions. Brenda has faithfully led our Women’s Ministry for four years and her leadership and wisdom have contributed greatly to Riverside. Her remarks during the Sunday worship services are below.
Good morning! And…
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he know what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.”
