Earlier this year Riverside’s Leadership Team and I developed a Long-Range Planning Team. Although the team has evolved some, it has been made up of Dave Timmerman, Luci Keazer, Jan Fisher, Erin Rush, Everette Mills, Kelly Blanchard, John Umbeck, Amber Stanley, Jen Tucker, and Becky Wellner. I have led the team in our mission “to assess the current gifts and growth areas of Riverside, to understand our local community (Tippecanoe County) and its passions, to articulate a God-given vision and structure focused on sustainable spiritual momentum, and to ultimately suggest strategies that will help develop Riverside’s individuality and call to change lives in Tippecanoe County and beyond.”
We have met for several months and have made exciting progress in formulating and clarifying our mission. We are now at a stage where we are beginning to move from ideas and language into planning and action. Your input has been very important thus far and we again want your help.
For this stage we have divided the life of a Christian into three basic movements: 1) towards God by becoming disciples of Jesus Christ, 2) towards one another through Christian community, and 3) towards our world through evangelism and service. We would like you to prayerfully consider being a part of a team of people who will now assess Riverside’s strengths and weaknesses in each of these areas and then develop short-term and long-term strategies for moving us forward as a church.
Each of the teams will be led by members of the Long-Range Planning Team and will meet on a regular basis. Please prayerfully consider whether God may be leading you to participate on one of these teams. We desire anyone (regular attender or member) that has a passion for one of these areas and can commit to several months of regular meetings. If you are interested, please email the office at office@rcovenant.org and specify which team you would like to serve on.
