Beginning July 5th we will have limited space available for worship with the following guidelines:
- All CDC/Government recommendations for gathering will be followed. This includes directions pertaining to size of group, face coverings and social distancing.
The Staff and Leadership Team are in agreement that out of concern and love for neighbor and for those who may be more vulnerable, masks/face coverings will be REQUIRED while in the church building. - Commonly touched hard surfaces that participants may come in contact with, will be disinfected before people arrive and after they leave.
- If you or anyone in your immediate family is feeling sick or has a temperature or has had temperature in the last several days STAY HOME!
- Participate at your own pace. If you are not comfortable joining, we understand and encourage you to continue to gather with us online.
Kids
As we begin the process of coming back together there are a lot of different factors to consider. We believe, at Riverside, that you who are parents were called into this role and know your family best. So, instead of giving an age limit to services, we felt it was better to give you a clear picture of how things will look and the kinds of procedures that will be in place so you can make the decision of how best to worship with your family during this time.
As there will be no nursery or in-person children’s programming, families will be sitting together, either in laps or on chairs. Per the CDC guidelines, anyone age two or over will need to wear a mask. We absolutely realize that this is a lot to ask of a toddler. Traditionally, the sanctuary floor has been a welcome place for kids to spread out and wander when they feel restless, but in this moment in time, it is important to keep family units together. Also, there will not be any activity bags provided to keep kids engaged, so we encourage you to bring appropriate materials for your children.
We want to emphasize that these guidelines are specifically for this season. We, at Riverside, welcome and esteem children, just as Jesus does. But we also recognize that we are living in unprecedented times and children do not always recognize danger. If these procedures seem doable for your family, then we welcome you to sign up to worship in-person. If not, please continue to worship alongside us from your home and join us in fervent prayer that we would be able to worship together again soon.
