Letter from Kristen and Justin:
Spring some days and winter on others, it must be March! More than the weather has been changing for us. The month has brought a lot of changes for us.
We went to Colorado a couple weeks ago and The Navigators confirmed us to be sent out as long-term missionaries to Thailand! The time in Colorado went smoothly. We had a whole day of interviews followed by a day of learning the new procedures/policies for this branch of The Navigators. We left feeling affirmed and a bit overwhelmed by all that’s on our plate between now and the end of July when we hope to leave.
In addition to maintaining the relationships and responsibilities that we have on the Purdue campus and in the community, we are also entering an intense season of preparation and fundraising. These things will take a lot of our time and will require quite a bit of traveling over the next few months. At the end of May we will have to return to CO for a 3 week cross-cultural training course that we’re required to take. Prior to that we’ll be in Dayton a couple times and in Evansville for a weekend as we meet with some of you to share more details on what’s next for us.
In the midst of feeling overwhelmed we are looking forward to sharing what our ministry in Thailand will look like. At the same time, we are increasingly aware of our need for prayer support. Would you consider praying daily over these needs?
- For our family’s protection as we travel, as well as preparation of our hearts as we face the reality of leaving ourfamily and friends.
- A strong finish here at Purdue with the students we’re involved with and our friendships within the community.
- That our fundraising would go smoothly, people would be moved to join us by financially partnering with us, and that there’d be mutual encouragement with the people we are able to meet with.
- Deep and renewing times with God as we wade through this busy and stress-filled season.
YOU are a huge help to us as we demonstrate and communicate the Gospel to people who have never known it. Thank you for standing with us, covering us in prayer, and enabling us with your gifts! Our labor is never in vain (1 Cor. 15:58)!
By His Grace,
Justin & Kristen
