Remington First Christian Church has been one of the primary places of refugee for flood victims over the last two months. It is truly an amazing story of God placing a congregation in a place of need and allowing the Holy Spirit to work. They just sent out this letter to all the church’s that have support them in there efforts. The letter will let you know how our support has helped and the vision to prepare there church for this kind of situation in the future.
Greetings Our Dear Friends in Christ,
I know you have been anxiously awaiting a report of how things are going in our little town of Remington and more specifically, at our church, Remington First Christian Church and this little note is a brief update for you.
When I think back over the past few weeks and remember all of the many happenings that our church was actively involved doing, I just want to stop and give a huge shout of Praise and Thanksgiving to our wonderful God!
When we face trials and struggles and when we are at our lowest moments of weakness, that is when we discover that God is strongest. Praise be to God! And that is exactly what happened at First Christian Church!
Our new friends that found love and shelter at our church have all returned to their homes. Many experienced a ‘love’ that they have never known before. The Holy Spirit has been working in their lives and as a result many for the first time have now found a church home at our church and are attending regularly and we have had three adults accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! Praise be to God!! And … that my friends, is what it is all about – that is what makes our involvement such a blessing ? ! (Matt 28:19)
God has abundantly blessed our efforts with the financial support that we have received from you and many other fellow members of the true Body of Christ! The generous love gifts have not only helped to change lives of the flood victims but also the lives of people in our church who have been touched by your love to us with your generous show of support through your prayers and financial gifts. ? Good things are happening at our church!!
Our church board has appointed a sub-committee to look at how the money (after the immediate expenses have been paid) should be spent and to prioritize what the needs are so that our church will be better equipped to handle any future emergencies in our community.
The list includes: purchasing an in-line water pump & storage tank to improve water pressure within the church building; cleaning and/or partial replacement of some of our carpeted areas; upgrade current bathroom facilities and install a shower; install a transfer switch in our electrical system to allow an emergency generator to be used, if needed.
God has a Plan … and we know that all of you have been and will continually be involved in some manner for all of us to build up and increase the number of God’s people in His Kingdom. Thank you so much for your prayers and your involvement in this ‘mission’. "May God Bless You This Day and Always…"
Grace and Peace to you … Linda Taulman Remington First Christian Church
