Dear Riverside Covenant Church,
On behalf of the Kokomo Area Operation Christmas Child Team, I would like to thank you for participating in Operation Christmas Child in 2014. It was truly an exciting year! The team is so grateful for the 169 shoeboxes that your church collected!
I would like to share some exciting news with you that was recently released regarding the 2014 shoebox collection.
- The Kokomo Area Operation Christmas Child team collected 20,715 shoeboxes! This is a 14% increase over 2013. PRAISE THE LORD!!
- The Great Lakes Area Operation Christmas Child team (IN, OH, WV, MI) collected 841,851 shoeboxes!
- The total number of shoeboxes collected in the US was 7,991,643!
- The total number of shoeboxes collected worldwide was 10,440,333!
- Over 550,000 children accepted Christ as Savior last year after receiving a shoebox! We do not know how many other children, friends and family members received Christ after these totals were given.
Many of the 2014 shoeboxes from our area were sent to Madagascar, Republic of Georgia, Honduras, Columbia and Malawi. Distributions continue to take place since it takes considerable time for shoeboxes to arrive and to get through customs, so it is likely that we will hear about other destinations for our shoeboxes. It is such a thrill to know that our efforts will help to meet the physical needs of so many children and will also share with them the GREATEST GIFT of ALL, salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray that many of these children will come to know Christ as their personal Saviour.
I would like to challenge you to begin to think NOW about what you can do for Operation Christmas Child in 2015. The goal for the Kokomo OCC Area is 22,787. This is an increase of 10%. Would it be possible for you to set a goal that is 10% more than the number of shoeboxes that you collected this year?
