One of the goals of the Riverside Leadership Team is to be transparent and open about our discernment and processes for addressing Riverside’s future facility needs.
When we last gave you an update we mentioned that we had identified an existing facility that could potentially meet our current space needs and provide adequate room for future growth. Unfortunately, as we gathered more information about this property from the seller, the property’s limitations and costs outweighed its benefits. We were ultimately unable to present it to you as a viable option.
This past month the Leadership Team has continued to keep our eyes open for emerging possibilities, but has also begun working with ArKor architects and engineers to determine what a new facility that meets Riverside’s needs might cost. This process involves ArKor assessing our current facility usage, conversing with our staff and ministry leaders, and then developing a possible floor plan. No decisions have been made to build a new building, but this information will help us determine the cost to build if we were to move in that direction.
In the meantime we continue to look at all available options including other existing facilities and other church buildings that may not be fully utilized by their current congregations. We always appreciate any ideas or input you may have. You can email the Riverside Leadership Team at lt@rcovenant.org.
Please remember that no final decisions will be made without congregational conversations and discernment. We covet your prayers and ideas and will continue to keep you informed as we discern God’s will together.
In Christ,
Riverside Leadership Team
