In John 17, Jesus prays that his people, the church, may be in perfect unity as he and the father are in perfect unity. America today, is incredibly divided and simultaneously God is moving His church in Lafayette closer together. To display and deepen that unity, the Greater Lafayette Gospel Association and the Pastors Alliance are joining together for the Unity Build with Habitat for Humanity.
The Unity Build is an opportunity for a diverse group of Christian congregations in Greater Lafayette to love one another while we love our city. This will be a chance to build bridges with one another as we build a house together on Wabash Ave. Not only will we be building a house, but we will be spending time strengthening relationships with one another. There will be ways for each member of the partner congregations to be involved with the Unity Build including, fellowship, Prayer, worship, fundraising, neighborhood care, friendship building, and house building.
The Unity Build was faced with a unique opportunity, to build two houses for the price of one. Because of a generous donor, one house just a few doors down from the house we are building on Wabash Ave was fully funded. The congregations involved decided that it would be an awesome display of Jesus love to build both houses!
We will kick off the Unity Build with a time of prayer and worship at 7pm on Monday, September 18th at Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop (724 Wabash Avenue, Lafayette). Please considering participating in this special night as leaders from our various congregations lead us in prayer.
