Jubilee Christmas is a special LUM (Lafayette Urban Ministry) program for families with children ages 12 and younger. Families who participate in Jubilee Christmas are invited to a host site and are able to select new toys for their children. Families also receive food items to make their Christmas dinner even more special. On Saturday, December 11, 10:00-12:00, Riverside will be hosting a limited in-person Jubilee Christmas. Our goal is to provide Christmas toys, hygiene items, winter wear, games, blankets and baked treats for the 10 families chosen for Riverside.
There are several ways that you can be involved: setting up for the event, hosting a family or donating toys, baked goods or money. Currently we are looking for volunteers 1)to help set up the evening of Friday, December 10th (sign up below) and 2)to help host families on Saturday, December 11th. Because we are limiting the number of families in the building at one time, we do not need as many hosts, but if you would like to participate in this way, you can sign up below. You will be contacted after signing up with more information. (Thanks to you who have signed up. We have enough volunteers and have closed the sign up.)
There is a board set up in the back of the sanctuary with tags for toys and baked goods. If you are not yet attending in person, but would like to participate in purchasing a toy or donating some baked goods, contact the church office (office@rcovenant.org or 765.463.4600) to claim a tag. Toys are due back to Riverside by Sunday, December 5th. Baked goods can be dropped off at the church by Friday, December 10th no later than 4:00 p.m.
If you would like to donate financially to help in purchasing the gift cards and gift cards, please make out a check to Riverside Covenant Church and put “Jubilee Christmas” in the memo and drop by the church office or mail to 1850 Woodland Ave, West Lafayette, IN, 47906, or give online by choosing the Misc. fund and putting Jubilee Christmas in the description. A donation of $70 will help support 1 family.
