Praise God! We successfully survived our first RCC Vacation Bible School. What a fun week of energetic kids participating in creative ways to learn about God and His Word. A huge thank you goes out to co-directors Kelly Blanchard and Dana Teefey. They set the standard really high for our first attempt! We started each evening off with some energetic SonQuest Rainforest music lead by Becky Wellner .A drama team followed the music, keeping us in suspense about Sean’s adventures in the Rainforest. Next, different kids participated in stunts that related to the lesson for the day. Winners could choose their own prizes. The most popular prize was always the mystery prize which resulted in a bucket of water thrown at Ryan Wellner, a cream pie in Pastor Dan’s face, a new hairdo for Kyle Rottler with whip cream, and water balloons thrown at Andrew Madrid. On a more serious note, the kids went to classrooms next to hear their bible lesson before more fun with crafts, snacks and recreation.
We are excited to announce that we collected $462 for our mission project, Bite Back. We were able to purchase 46 mosquito nets to send to Africa.
Chick-Fil-A gave all of our kids coupons for free sandwiches and sent sandwiches one night for the VBS helpers. Malone’s Gym gave free day passes to all of the kids also. What nice unexpected gifts from these businesses.
There were some pretty tired people by the end of the week but it was a good tired and we cannot thank everyone who helped us enough. Fun and fellowship was had by all and hopefully God was glorified
