On Sunday, April 9, following the second worship service, there will be a brief congregational meeting to approve the Pastoral Search Team. Riverside’s Leadership Team recently met to pray and discern who should be nominated for the Search Team and will share names and biographies prior to the April 9 meeting. The Search Team will work together to identify Riverside’s next Senior Pastor. Pastoral Search Process
- Riverside elects the Pastoral Search Team on Sunday, April 9
- Pastoral Search Team responsibilities include:
- Work with congregation to prepare a church/community information packet for potential applicants
- Begin receiving applicants from the Evangelical Covenant Church (our network of churches) and potentially other sources
- Review and prioritize potential pastoral candidates
- Contact and interview potential pastoral candidates (over telephone, Skype, and in person)
- Identify one pastor for a candidating weekend visit with Riverside
- Recommend one pastor to Riverside’s membership to be offered Riverside’s Senior Pastor position
- Riverside membership votes to extend a call to the pastor recommended by the Search Team
- The pastor accepts the call to serve Riverside
- The pastor will be installed during a Riverside worship service
