Riverside is participating in Lafayette Urban Ministry’s Jubilee Christmas. This is our community’s largest Christmas assistance program. On Saturday, December 13th, 10 a.m-12 p.m., Riverside will become a Jubilee Toy Shop where low-income parents can select new toys for their children. We have 15 families with a total of 32 children we are buying gifts for.
Here is what you can do to help:
- Financial support—to support a family ($60). Checks can be made out to Riverside CC with Jubilee Christmas in the memo line. Money goes towards buying food certificates and a ham for the family and buying gift cards for teens.
- Shop for new toys for the 32 children age 0-12 years. Jubilee Christmas wants each child to have 3 new (not used) toys in the price range of $15-30. You can take a slip off the bulletin board in the back in front of the sound booth that has the age and gender of the child you want to shop for. (Each slip equals one toy). You can drop off the toys at the church at any time (that the church is open) into the boxes that are labeled by gender and age.
- Sign up below (or on the bulletin tear off sheet) to host a family on Saturday, December 13th while they shop. Lindsay will be in contact to get you the information you need.
- Pick up a tag from the bulletin board in the back if you would like to help contribute some baked goods for the families to enjoy while shopping for their gifts.
All gifts and financial support is due in to the church by Sunday, December 7th.
