Did you know that Riverside is on board with Greater Lafayette Family Promise—an amazingly successful, church supported housing program that serves area families who are striving to overcome homelessness? It’s a great community outreach!
Last week, during our second of three weeks of assigned service for 2015, seven Riverside volunteers served alongside Holy Trinity Lutheran Church members in order to lighten the load for three precious families who are striving to recover their independence. By week’s end there was much to celebrate! One Dad had secured full time work and two of the three families had been approved for permanent housing. That was great news for the five adults and five children who also continued to attend school, maintain jobs, and juggle extracurricular school activities.
But your help is needed because there’s much to do. Volunteers provide and host meals, socialize, help with homework, play with the children, stay overnight, answer phones at the day center, and/or help with set up and tear down. So, if you and your family are interested in being even a small part of this very successful ministry, then mark your calendars with the following information and RSVP to Linda Bogan (765) 589-7540 or lkbogan@hotmail.com:
