Dear Riverside Family:
I am grateful that you are a part of Riverside Covenant Church and I hope that God continues to use our fellowship to draw your family closer to each other and to God.
In February of 2008, Matt Muehlhausen graciously agreed to serve as Riverside’s Interim Worship Ministry Director while the church searched for its first full-time Youth Ministry Director. In August, Becky Wellner became our Youth Ministry Director. Since then, the Leadership Team, Matt and I have been discerning our next steps with regard to Riverside’s corporate worship. We have now decided that we are ready to begin a search for a permanent part-time Worship Ministry Director and the Leadership Team has selected a Search Committee. The Leadership Team has directed the Search Committee to determine the congregation’s desires and goals with regard to the Worship Ministry, formulate a job description, review applicants, and ultimately recommend someone to the Leadership Team for final approval and hiring. The Leadership Team has selected the following people to serve on the Worship Ministry Director Search Committee: Matt Muehlhausen, Becky Wellner, Steve Johnson, Linda Bogan, Malcolm Springs, Jerry Tanner and me.
We are deeply appreciative to Matt Muehlhausen for his willingness to lead over this past year, especially when he thought it would only be for a few months. He is faithful, discerning and has invested countless hours in selecting music, preparing the order of worship, coordinating instrumentalists and singers, meeting with me and guiding Riverside in our collective worship of God. We will be blessed to continue to have Matt as a part of our worship music team.
Since you are participants in our corporate worship services, you have an invested interest in the Worship Ministry Director position. The Search Committee will, therefore, put together a questionnaire asking your prayerful opinion regarding the specific needs of our congregation and God’s desires for the Worship Ministry Director position. The Worship Ministry Director Search Committee will also make themselves personally available to you as this process proceeds so that you will have the opportunity to be heard.
Your experience and input are crucial in helping the Search Committee discern who God is leading to Riverside to be our Worship Ministry Director. Please pray that God will provide Riverside with a Worship Ministry Director that will lead us into intimate and lasting worship of our God.
