This Sunday(July 5th) is Family Worship Sunday. Which means there is NO Promiseland downstairs this week, but this is not just about taking a “break” from Promiseland. Family Worship Sunday is about taking an opportunity to worship together with your family. Riverside believes church is not just for grownups and that worship is for everyone. We hope that Sunday celebrates what God is doing with your immediate family and with your Riverside church family. The nursery will be staffed during second service as usual and open for your personal use during first service.
Don’t be frightened by the thought of your squirrely children sitting, or wiggling, beside you. Participating in worship service is learned and takes time. Take a moments to whisper to your children and tell them what is going on. Explain the meaning of some of the song lyrics. Hold them close and share with them why we do different things. Most of all, we pray that you will fight the temptation to stay home!
Pray before you go to church that this will be a great experience for your whole family. And remember, we are praying for you too!
Don’t forget to grab an activity bag as you come in the sanctuary this Sunday. The greeters can help you out if you aren’t sure where to find them. And as always you are welcome to contact me with any questions.
Have a great holiday and we can’t wait to worship with your whole family together this Sunday, July 5th!
