Our second annual Family Fun Skating Night was enjoyed by about 40 enthusiastic skaters and watchers.
We skated to Christian music and ate Arni’s pizza until we were tired and full. The next event we want you to put on your calendar is Vacation Bible School on June 20-24 in the evening. This year we will experience The Big Apple Adventure, where faith and life connect.
This spring quarter our 3-5 yr olds will learn about God wanting us to be cheerful givers and Jesus wants us to be kind and compassionate to everyone. They will hear the story of Jesus’ friends starting the first church to come together and learn about God.
Our k-3rd graders will hear four different parables that illustrate important truths about the sin in our lives. Children will be challenged to train in order to win against sin, much like an athlete trains
his or her body. In Lesson 1, the Parable of the Sheep and Goats, children will learn that God wants us to care for others. In the Parable of the Wedding Feast, they will learn that God wants us to be humble. In Lesson 3, children will hear the Parable of the Rich Man, learning that God wants us to be content with what we have. Lesson 4 introduces children to the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, and they will learn God wants us to be content.
In the 4th-5th grade class kids will hear that there is a battle between God and Satan. God’s mission is to help as many people in this world as possible choose to believe in and follow Him, and grow Christians into the people He wants them to be. Satan’s mission is to prevent people from choosing to believe in and follow God, and prevent Christians from growing into the people God wants them to be. Children will have an opportunity in Lesson 1 to choose to become believers and be on God’s side in the battle. They will then learn that when they become believers, they have access to the full Armor of God to help them stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Lesson 1 teaches kids to put on the Helmet of Salvation which reminds them that they are in God’s family and on His side in the battle. Lesson 2 teaches that the Sword of the Spirit, the Bible, helps children discern right from wrong when they are attacked by Satan. Lesson 3 teaches kids to wear the Belt of Truth which helps them distinguish the difference between God’s truth and Satan’s lies. Lesson 4 teaches children that putting on the Breastplate of Righteousness protects their heart and character from Satan’s blows.
As we here in Children’s Ministry keep seeking the very best for your children, we value your opinions and need your prayers. God continues to bless and provide for us on a daily basis and we know it is through the faithful prayers of parents and volunteers that we are able to accomplish what we do.
