This week was a roller-coaster! Tuesday was our soup night at LUM-Aspen joined me and we served soup as usual, but it was pretty sad this time. The guests are provided with a meal, a shower, and a bed for the night and then a grab and go breakfast the next morning. The are often dressed like you and me, and willing to share their story and have a chat. You probably wouldn’t even know they lived a harder life if you saw them walking down the street-but this week was different. One of the guests was extremely hungry-scarfed down our food so fast and came back for more-he didn’t stay to shower, didn’t stay to sleep on a comfortable bed. We were shocked into the reality of homelessness. It made us both cry-what was his story? Would he be back?
