Riverside’s monthly prayer calendar is intended to spur on adults and children alike in their prayer lives.  Each day’s requests are biblically based and are for all sorts of people—those who need to know Jesus as well as the “saints.”  There are prayer requests for personal spiritual growth, our families, our own church, community, and nation, to around the world.  So use the attached calendar as a tool to grow yourself, train your children and bless many people.

Riverside is participating in Lafayette Urban Ministry’s Jubilee Christmas. This is our community’s largest Christmas assistance program.   On Saturday, December 14th, 10 a.m-12 p.m., Riverside will become a Jubilee Toy Shop where parents participating in the Jubliee Christmas program can select new toys for their children.  We have 15 families with a total of 40 children we are buying gifts for.

Here is what you can do to help…

 

The men of Riverside will convene to eat steaks and baked potatoes on Saturday, October 5th at 6:00 p.m.  We will meet at the Brennan house at 3261 Dover Lane, Lafayette, IN 47909.  Cost for this event is $10 per person.  Feel free to bring a side dish or dessert.  For more information, contact Zach Brennan at brennan.zach@gmail.com or 765-532-2923.

Let the little children come to me….with Donuts! Well it doesn’t exactly go like that but it will on June 15th at Riverside.  Come and join us for a men’s breakfast at 8:30. Bring your children for food, fun, and fellowship. Don’t have children to bring? “When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus said to them, bring some of the fish you have just caught.” . . . “Jesus said to them come and have breakfast” John 21:9-10,12 (NIV).

This is another great reminder of how Jesus not only met the spiritual needs of his disciples but also their physical needs.  Men of Riverside, I encourage you to consider your need of fellowship with other men who are also seeking to follow after Christ. Consider attending the Men’s Outdoor Breakfast and Fishing Event (see details below), regardless of your interest in fishing consider attending the event for fun, fellowship, and a few fishing stories.  After all, if an outdoor breakfast was good for Jesus and his disciples….it is good for the men of Riverside.
