Christianity’s Impact on Chinese Culture

Purdue is hosting the special art exhibit  “Strangers No More: Village Churches on the Good Earth of the Sacred Land” through Sunday, Oct 10.  Additionally, Sociology Professor Fenggang Yang will present the lecture “Why Christianity Is Thriving in China Today” from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 in Lawson B155.

More information about the events are available from Purdue News and the Journal and Courier.

We will also have ‘Missions Moment’ opportunities during both services this Sunday about missions work in China.  Keep China in your prayers!

Little Dresses for Haiti

Would you like to make a difference to a girl in Haiti?  You can do this by donating pillowcases to the Little Dresses for Haiti project.  Donated pillowcases may be placed in the basket located near the information table at the back of the sanctuary.

These pillowcases will be turned into dresses by local volunteers. The finished dresses are taken periodically to Haiti by area residents who are traveling to Haiti on various types of mission trips.

If you would like instructions to make the dresses yourself, see Janet Mauck or send her e-mail at janetm@purdue.edu. You also can join Little Dresses for Haiti on Facebook to get more information and find out when periodic group dress-making sessions are held.

Want to Provide Housing for a Missionary?

The EDGE Corps is a one to two year ministry internship with The Navigators that gives recent college graduates a chance to reach college students with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Each EDGE Corps participant raises their own support and trusts God to provide housing in their “new home”. Would you be willing to provide a home to 1-2 of these campus missionaries?  Please pray and ask God if this is a way you might be involved in advancing the gospel of Christ at Purdue University.  Interested??? Contact the church office office@rcovenant.org.
