Happy Spring to all of you!! Some are blaming me for our extended “winter like weather” because of the snowmen and snowflakes still up in Promiseland. I really do like snow but I guess it is time for some flowers and warm weather. The snowmen are in hibernation along with their snowflakes so don’t blame me if it snows again!

On a more serious note, Sunday April 14, the Prayer Team is asking adults and kids to share a prayer of their own and how God has answered that prayer. They will use cardboard to write them on. If you have been in the service when we have done Cardboard Testimonies, this will be the same. Your kids have been praying together in their rooms each Sunday and I personally have been part of some awesome prayer time with the kids. It would be great if you would encourage your kids to participate in this sharing time. Please contact Diane Kelley if you are interested in this opportunity.

Hello parents, I was just ready to add some Springiness to our Promiseland hallway,since Easter is just a few Sundays away, and then came the SNOW!! I couldn’t bring myself to put away the lighted snowflakes just yet…maybe next week.

This past Sunday, about 40 kids and parents enjoyed the Family Skate Night. As far as I know there were no serious injuries, just a few bumps and bruised egos by those of us that only skate once a year. It was a fun time to laugh and spend time getting to know the Riverside Family better.

Here are a few thoughts about the upcoming Sundays to remember. The kids will bring in palms again this year on Palm Sunday and we also are going to celebrate upstairs on Easter Sunday, leading the congregation in “He Arose”. Our kids learned this song in VBS this past summer. It will be important to get the children here on time, if you want them to participate, as these two events will be at the beginning of the service.

Hi everyone, it’s cold outside, burrrr….I hope this letter finds you all healthy and warm inside your homes and hearts. As I have endured a long two weeks of a cold and the flu, it makes me so grateful for the times of good health and feeling energized. I don’t know if this makes you parents feel better, but right before I got sick, with the help of my husband, we cleaned and sanitized all of the toys and furniture in the nurseries and PL rooms. Mmmm… maybe that’s how I got sick. Oh well, I hope this helps with all of the nasty germs going around right now.

What a fun time we had in December with all of our Christmas celebrations. I have never seen so many people attend our Kids Christmas Celebration. The sanctuary was full and we ran out of food! We didn’t run out of energy, at least the kids didn’t, as they participated in games and crafts after the program. Thanks to Miss Dana for organizing the event and to all those who helped us.

Christmas Eve services were a bit less hectic as we moved to two family oriented services due to the many young families here at Riverside. At both services the kids were able to hear a children’s Christmas story read by Miss Megan and play hand bells to Christmas music. What a special time it was to remember Jesus and the gift He is to us.
