Greetings from Promiseland. This Sunday April 10th, will be Promisemart Shopping Sunday, so make sure you bring all those Bible Bucks! The kids are doing a great job giving to the shoe boxes. We have encouraged them to buy items with their Bucks to place in the shoe boxes for Christmas. We have almost six boxes full after only two shopping Sundays. We’ve seen some awesome acts of kindness and sharing as siblings share and save Bucks for each other as they purchase items from the store. Others have demonstrated great discipline as they save weeks and months at a time for a larger priced item. All of the children are about to learn a lesson about inflation as we raise the prices at the store. We are trying to be very frugal with our spending this year in Promiseland and think we need to spend less on the store, so you might hear some whining when inflation hits this week.

Our second annual Family Fun Skating Night was enjoyed by about 40 enthusiastic skaters and watchers.

It’s snowing again as I write this article. As a matter of fact, I am snowed in at my house! I love snow and usually never get tired of it, but I think I might have to reconsider this year. Our Vacation Bible School Curriculum arrived this week, but I’m not sure how to get excited about summer VBS with this much snow on the ground!
Let’s not forget about the skating night we have planned for Sunday, February 13, at 5:15 at Great Skates. Hopefully the snow won’t keep us from having fun together as we skate and eat Arni’s Pizza. If you haven’t signed up, that is fine, come anyways.
Promiseland Chatter-January 2011
Happy New Year! We ended last year with about forty children participating in an awesome Christmas musical. The sanctuary was full of proud parents and grandparents who enjoyed the program and shared a meal afterwards. A few brave souls went out caroling to our neighbors in very cold weather. It was fun and we hope to do it again next year.
